Night sky wall art
Design your night sky
The stars as they were over any place on any night. Pick the moment and we chart that sky exactly.
The sky exactly as it was
A star map print shows the night sky over one place at one moment. Give it a date, a time and a location, and the chart is calculated for that position: which stars were above the horizon, where they sat, and how the constellations were turned.
The whole visible sky fills a circle, north at the top and east on the left, the way it looks lying on your back looking up. Choose how many stars appear, whether constellation lines and the Milky Way are drawn, and which of twelve palettes it prints in.

Common questions about star map prints
How accurate is the star map?
Star positions are calculated for the exact date, time and coordinates you enter, using a standard catalogue of naked-eye stars. What you see on the poster is what was above that spot at that moment.
Can I choose a date in the past?
Yes, any date. Most orders are for a night that has already happened, and future dates work the same way if you are making something for a date still to come.
Why does the sky look empty at some times?
The chart only draws what was above the horizon. A daytime hour still produces a valid chart, but an evening time will usually give the fuller sky people expect from a star map.
Can I control how many stars appear?
Yes. Three density settings run from the brightest stars only to a dense sky, and constellation lines and the Milky Way can each be turned on or off.
What text goes on a night sky print?
A title, an optional second line, the date and time, the location, and the coordinates. The date, the coordinates and the second line can each be removed if you want it plainer.
