Wallspoke started at my kitchen table, with a stack of maps and a feeling I couldn't shake: that the best parts of a life go by so fast, and most of them never get marked anywhere at all.
It started with one wall
My husband and I love to travel, and somewhere along the way, our house filled up with maps. I never set out to collect them. I just kept wanting to hold onto where we'd been.
I realized it wasn't about the places
One day I stood back and looked at that wall. Where we met, where we got married, where our kids were born and understood it wasn't really a map collection. It was a timeline of everything that mattered. Every pin was a moment we almost let slip by uncelebrated.
Happy moments shouldn't be the ones we forget
Life moves fast. You close on the house, you cross the finish line, you bring the baby home, and then it's Tuesday again and the moment is just... a memory, unmarked, mixed in with everything else. I didn't want that. I wanted proof, something on the wall that said this happened, and it mattered.
So I started making them myself
I looked everywhere for a map that felt like ours. The exact spot, the exact day, the reason behind it and never found one. Everything out there was about the place. Nothing was about the moment.
So I made my own. Now I help other people mark theirs: an anniversary, a first house, a marathon finished, the night's sky on the night their baby was born. Different moments, same instinct make it tangible before it fades.
